BARTLETT, New Hampshire ??” Returning for its eighth year, Attitash’s Oktoberfest is slated for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8 and 9, starting at noon. Beers from 12 different breweries will be available for sampling along with a wide array of German food and entertainment options to make for a colorful and flavorful weekend. The event takes place at Bear Peak, one mile west of Attitash on Route 302 in Bartlett.

“We’ll be bringing the number one selling Hefeweizen beer in America,” said Koren McShane of Redhook Brewery. “Our Widmer Hefeweizen is an Oktoberfest classic since the recipe is straight from Germany. Along with that will be our ESB flagship brew. It’s an amber ale with a toasty malt aroma.”

Attending brewers include Budweiser, Samuel Adams, Magic Hat, Beck’s, Redhook, Shipyard, Moat Mountain, Woodstock Inn, Harpoon, Otter Creek, Long Trail and Tuckerman. A People’s Choice Award will allow attendees to vote for their favorite beers.

The nationally acclaimed Bavarian Brothers oompah band will be on hand to add German sounds to an already authentic line-up of food and entertainment. Admission is $10 for adults over 21 years of age, $5 for ages 6-20, and kids under 6 years of age get in free.

With admission guests can enter the stein holding or keg toss competitions, both are Attitash Oktoberfest traditions. There is also a barrel toss for kids to go along with activities including face painting, musical chairs, potato sack relay, three legged race and more.

“It’s truly a staple of fall in the Mount Washington Valley,” said Heidi Loecher-Duffy, events coordinator for Attitash. “The keg toss and stein holding contests are a big draw along with the games for kids. My suggestion is to come hungry.”

Attitash attractions including North America’s longest Alpine Slides and the Scenic Sky Ride will be open on Columbus Day Weekend. The Scenic Sky Ride to the summit of Attitash is a popular way to take in the splendor of the White Mountains in their fall colors along with Attitash’s guided horseback trail rides. Further extending the activities line-up, one of Attitash’s climbing walls will be staged at the Oktoberfest site.

The All For One Pass valid at all eastern American Skiing Company resorts including Attitash in New Hampshire, Sunday River and Sugarloaf in Maine, and Killington, Mount Snow and Pico in Vermont will be purchasable on-site. The deadline for current All For One Pass prices is Oct. 10 making Oktoberfest one of the last times to get the pass starting at $369.
