Cabot, VT (June 5, 2013) — In their dedication to promote sustainability in the state of Vermont, the farm families of Cabot Creamery Cooperative are announcing a partnership with the Vermont Mountain Bike Association (VMBA). Together, the Vermont based organizations hope to promote environmental stewardship, and the Green Mountain State as the premier mountain biking destination in the Northeast.

“VMBA is honored to partner with Cabot Creamery,” says Tom Stuessy, Executive Director of VMBA. “Our partners play a key role in our efforts to expand great riding experiences throughout Vermont. Support shared by our partners committed to building community in Vermont translates into the best riding scene in the east. We couldn’t be any more excited to make Cabot Cheese part of the Vermont mountain biking experience.”

Cabot Creamery is most widely known as a New England and upstate New York based dairy farm cooperative and as the maker’s of the “World’s Best Cheddar.” But that is only part of the story. They are also, and have been since their inception in 1919, champions of all things Vermont. To this day, Cabot partners with and supports organizations like: Ski Vermont; Vermont Quality Wood Products; Vermont Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation; Official State Tourism of Vermont; and The Best of Vermont Showcase. Cabot is excited to add the Vermont Mountain Bike Association (VMBA) to this list.

“VMBA shares our commitment to protecting Vermont’s natural beauty,” says Cabot’s Regional Market Manager/Northeast, Chris Pierson. “Together, we hope we can help more Vermonters get involved in outdoor recreation, as well as attract more mountain bikers to our state’s beautiful trails. Being part of a cooperative is fundamentally about being a part of a community. We’ve always supported local organizations, especially those focused on sustainability, which we define as living within our means and ensuring the means to live. It is what our farmer owners believe in.”
