The Mount Washington Resort at Bretton Woods Announces New Marketing Director
BRETTON WOODS, New Hampshire ??” Pat Corso, President and CEO of The Mount Washington Resort at Bretton Woods, announced today that Candra Canning has been appointed the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Mount Washington Resort at Bretton Woods. The Resort is home of the historic Mount Washington Hotel and New Hampshire’s largest ski area, Bretton Woods Mountain Resort.
Candra will have direct supervision of the Marketing Department, including strategic partnerships, and serve as liaison for Human Resources in an ongoing effort to align internal and external communication and to develop guest experience training for resort employees.
Candra began her work at The Mount Washington Resort as a management and communications consultant in March of 2005. In her work as a consultant, she developed and implemented a new customer service program that brought all training under a common theme in alignment with the resort’s brand personality. “Organizations that show employees how to authentically live their brand help create an emotional connection to the brand for both customers and employees. That can make all the difference in today’s complex marketing and customer service environment,” said Candra.
“Candra has accomplished much during her short tenure at the Resort,” said Corso. “She has been an important member of the management team and we value her expertise, energy and enthusiasm for the success of the entire Resort operation. Candra possesses the ability to lead the Marketing Department in achieving growth, which is essential to realize the vision of the Resort as a premier Northeast destination.”
Prior to her move to New Hampshire, Candra lead the marketing effort to launch Tahoe Mountain Resorts, a four-community resort development in North Lake Tahoe for East West Partners of Truckee, California. As Membership Director for the Tahoe Mountain Club, she developed the initial positioning, sales materials and lead the sales launch of Tahoe Mountain Club, the overarching membership component of Tahoe Mountain Resorts.
Candra received her bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the University of California, Berkeley. She was a member of the Truckee Rotary and was a co-founder and director of the San Joaquin Valley Young Leader’s Organization, an outdoor leadership program for disadvantaged youth. Candra’s commitment to community involvement has continued in her move to the North Country, as a founding board member of the North County Boys and Girls Club and a new volunteer member of the Pemigewasset Search and Rescue team.
Candra and her husband Matt Glerum relocated from Truckee, California, when he became VP of Marketing for Garnet Hill in Franconia. Her passions include all outdoor sports, cooking and entertaining. Candra also brings her love for health and fitness to the resort as the leader for the employee yoga and pilates morning “boot camp.”
