CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine — Thanks to phenomenal early season snowfall – 100 inches by the first of the New Year – Sugarloaf is celebrating by offering $35 lift tickets Jan. 21-25.

“We’ve had such good fortune this winter, that we wanted to pass it on to the skiers and riders,” says Frank Guerriero, Sugarloaf’s director of marketing. “The conditions have been fantastic all season long, and this is the perfect time for everyone to head to the ‘Loaf.”

Not only has the natural snowfall been plentiful this season but new, more efficient snowguns, combined with favorable weather, have made for successful snowmaking. The guns were started on White Nitro, the steepest trail with snowmaking, in early January, almost one month ahead of most years.

“We’re ahead of our usual schedule with all of our snowmaking,” says Dan Barker, snow surfaces manager. “We’ve made snow everywhere we can make snow, and we’ll keep making it as long as the weather cooperates.”

Ski and Stay Packages for the nights of Jan. 21-24 start at $69. For more information or to reserve your stay, call 1.800.THE.LOAF.
