Attitash to Host the ATP Skiercross/Ridercross on March 1
BARTLETT, New Hampshire — Attitash in Bartlett, New Hampshire will host a Skiercross/Ridercross event on March 1, 2008. The head-to-head competition will take place on a course made up of berms, rollers, jumps and other elements.
“Our freeriders have been fired up for this event all season and we anticipate there will be some great competition in the final rounds,” said Corey Madden, Attitash events manager. “The course design will be pretty intense but will also have options for some of the less competitive divisions because we really want all levels to come out and get in on this adrenaline packed event.”
The Skiercross/Ridercross event is run in a race format where multiple competitors’ race through a course at the same time and the top finishers advance until a winner is crowned. Top three competitors in each division will receive select items from event sponsors Fisher, Ten80 Boardsports, Orage & Smith Optics.
There are skiers and snowboarder divisions for both men and women. Women are encouraged to participate. There will also be an adaptive mono ski division.
Athletes can register on the day of the event in the South Wing of the Attitash Base Lodge from 8:00-10:00 AM. The race start is at 11:00 AM. The entry fee is $15 with lift ticket or season pass.
