FRANCONIA, New Hampshire — Cannon Mountain will host its Sixth Annual Kristen’s Gift Ski Day on March 22.

The event is a fundraiser for Kristen’s Gift, the pediatric oncology fund of Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD). The fund was established in memory of 15-year-old Kristen Xiggoros of Manchester, who was treated at CHaD for a rare hepatosplenic lymphoma.

“Cannon Mountain is proud to host Kristen’s Gift, an amazing organization that benefits families at CHaD,” said Amy Bassett, Marketing Director at Cannon. “Cannon skiers and riders look forward to Kristen Gift’s Ski Day every year, and their support shows.”

Kristen’s Gift provides toys, videos and other materials for the pediatric chemotherapy infusion site at CHaD. Kristen’s Lounge, a dedicated chemotherapy area for teens at CHaD, was established with funds from Kristen’s Gift. The organization also assists families in dealing with the financial difficulties of long-term treatment.

Kristen’s Gift Ski Day at Cannon will include racing on Time Zone, a live auction, and a raffle with prizes ranging from skis and other gear to gift certificates for restaurants throughout New Hampshire and tickets to the Boston Aquarium. There will also be a band at the Peabody Base Lodge.

Ski Day participants receive lift tickets at a discounted price of $50, with half of that cost going to Kristen’s Gift. Proceeds from the event will help Kristen’s Gift reach its million dollar goal for the Kristen’s Gift Endowment.
