FRANCONIA, New Hampshire — Cannon Mountain spent the summer months gearing up for the upcoming winter with many changes awaiting skiers/riders.

The area has added additional terrain to its family friendly Tuckerbrook Learning area. Tuckerbrook will now boast 13 trails and glades with the addition of the new Raven’s Ridge trail and a new glade similar in design to the popular Robin’s Nest Glade. The green Raven Ridge trail will hold the distinction as Cannon’s newest trail and longest beginner run. A Tuckerbrook area-only ticket is offered for just $32 for the day.

“We’re on a roll here in Franconia Notch preparing for opening day,” exclaimed John DeVivo, General Manager. “We have had a busy summer/fall season and it looks like we’re in for another fantastic winter season!”

Cannon is also adding a new grooming machine to its fleet. With the addition of a new winch cat last season, a new powerful and efficient Prinoth Bison groomer will enhance Cannon’s commitment to providing the best conditions possible throughout the winter.

Snowmaking capacity was increased by 20% and new pipe and hydrants were added to improve efficiency. The mountain opened four new expert glades and one intermediate glade.

The Family Room at Peabody Base Lodge, the brown bag area, has been doubled in size. Along with newly added bathrooms, this will be a great base for families to enjoy a mid-day break together.

For the second year in a row, Cannon was named number one in the East for value by the readers of Ski Magazine. Cannon continues to bring home several impressive recognitions, like #1 in the East for Value; #2 in the East for Scenery; #2 in the East for Accessibility; #3 in the East for Overall Satisfaction; #3 in the East for Lift Service; #5 in the East for Challenge; #6 in the East for Variety of Terrain

Cannon Mountain has 72 trails, 9 lifts, and terrain for all ability levels. Cannon has the longest vertical drop and the highest lift-served terrain in New Hampshire. With New Hampshire’s only aerial tramway, Cannon is located directly off I-93 in Franconia Notch State Park.
