Members of the media are invited to Mount Snow to cover this visually striking part of the installation process for America’s only high speed detachable six passenger bubble lift

WEST DOVER, VT (September 29, 2011) – This media advisory is an invitation from Mount Snow to members of the media to come to the resort and cover this visually and technically impressive step in the installation process of America’s only high speed detachable six passenger bubble lift, the Bluebird Express. It will make for great visual footage and after all of the challenges the Mount Snow Valley has been through post-Tropical Storm Irene it is a story of “The Show Must Go On”.

The scene will consist of a very large construction helicopter flown by a former military ace pilot “picking” lift towers and crossarm assemblies from the staging area at the base of the mountain and flying them to the lift tower bases along the future lift line. The helicopter stays airborne throughout the entire process. Crews on the ground attach and detach, by hand, a hook connected to an 80-foot cable hanging from the belly of the helicopter. This carefully orchestrated process is supervised by officials from Mount Snow and Leitner-Poma; manufacturers of the Bluebird Express.

There will be a reception in the Station Tap Room located on the second floor of the Main Base Lodge at Mount Snow, 39 Mount Snow Rd, West Dover, VT 05356 with complimentary coffee, beverages and baked goods on Wednesday, October 5 beginning at 9am. Fact sheets will be available.
