Sunday River Offers Free Skiing and Riding for Military Personnel on Veterans Day

Newry, Maine (November 8, 2011)-In celebration of Veterans Day, Sunday River will offer a free adult lift ticket to all military personnel and their dependents, active and retired, with proper identification.

Resort President and General Manager Dana Bullen made the announcement today saying, “Sunday River is honored to offer this free lift ticket as a token of appreciation to our nation’s service men and women.”

Forms of accepted identification include a U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), a photograph in uniform, arrival to lift ticket window wearing an authentic uniform, a Veterans Organization Card (American Legion and VFW), or a DD Form 214.

Military personnel are defined for this program as active members of the U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army, Marines, Coast Guard, and National Guard

Sunday River plans to reopen its T2 and Upper Sunday Punch trails and Locke Mountain Triple chairlift Thursday, November 10, and will remain open seven days a week.

For non-military personnel, special early season rates are available at just $29, Thursday through Sunday, for a lift ticket. All skier and rider services are out of Barker Base Lodge except for season pass purchases and pickup, which are out of South Ridge Base Lodge.

This offer is valid only on Friday, November 11, 2011, and cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion.
