Little Slammer Slopestyle at Waterville Valley Slated for Dec. 31

WATERVILLE VALLEY, NH ??” Waterville Valley, the “Altitude without the Attitude” mountain, will continue its Little Slammer Series with the second installment of three terrain park competitions for skiers and riders 16 and under.

The Slammer Series consists of three events, where competitors are judged on style, difficulty and height. The first Little Slammer event was held on December 5, 2004 and tested freestyle skiers on a course with elements including rails and boxes. The Little Slammer Slopestyle will be held on Friday, December 31. Snowboarders will have the chance to showcase their abilities on a course featuring rails, boxes and jumps.

The early-season park, located adjacent to the Utter Abandoned trail, will be the site for the slam. The competition is free and open to all snowboarders under 16-years old. A lift ticket is required for participation. A panel of experts will judge competitors on skill, style and height. Prizes will be awarded and a raffle with cool stuff from Boeri, DC, Eastern Boarder and Gnu will follow at the conclusion of the event.

Registration for the Little Slammer Slopestyle will take place from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on the second floor of the base lodge. Boarders will then have a chance to demonstrate their jibbing abilities beginning at noon.

The third and final event of the series, the Little Slammer Minipipe, will take place on Sunday, February 27.
