VERNON, New Jersey ??” The countdown is on until the best snowboarders in the world are back in New Jersey for the final stop of the 2005 Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix, the premier snowboard competition series and pathway to the 2006 Olympic team

The three-part series, that awards $10,000 and a Chevy truck to first place, started the 2004-05 season at Breckenridge, Colorado in December, where 2004 Grand Prix Overall winner Hannah Teter (Belmont, VT) and 2002 Olympian Tommy Czeschin (Mammoth Lakes, CA) took first in the halfpipe competition. The second stop in January was at Mt. Bachelor, Oregon, where teenager Lindsey Jacobellis (Stratton, VT) and ’02 Olympic gold medalist Ross Powers (South Londonderry, VT) took top honors. The points spread leaves the race wide open to determine the overall winner under the lights at the Mountain Creek on Saturday, February 5th.

Come check out all the action right here in Vernon, N.J., as 130 riders from all over the United States including the “who’s who” in snowboarding like Teter, Czeschin, Jacobellis and Powers as well as, 2004 X Games gold medalists Steve Fisher (St. Louis Park, MN), 2002 Olympic gold medalist Kelly Clark (Mount Snow, VT), 2004 Grand Prix overall winner Andy Finch (Fresno, CA) and teen phenom Shaun White (Carlsbad, CA) compete in the halfpipe competition.

The Grand Prix also brings the action to Mountain Creek’s terrain park on Saturday afternoon. The Paul Mitchell Progression Session will hit the Sugar Jib Park, featuring Mountain Creek’s new Wall Ride, as talented athletes like Olympian Kelly Clark (Mount Snow, VT), Molly Aguirre (Duluth, MN), Luke Mitrani (Stratton, VT) and Travis Rice (Jackson, WY), who walked away with the win at the Breckenridge Progression Session, fight for a chunk of the overall $15,000 cash prize.

But that’s not all! Courtesy of Red Bull, twisting, high-flying motorcycles will be raining from the sky at 1:00pm and again at 6:30pm on Saturday, February 5th during the TNT Freestyle Motocross show on the snow at the base of the mountain. In the 80-foot gap between two Red Bull freestyle ramps, top freestyle motocross riders Tommy “Tom Cat” Clowers and Jeff “Full Tilt” Tilton will perform the tricks that have made this event a highlight of the X Games.

The Grand Prix also will boast an exciting sponsor village full of contests and giveaways, including the Chevrolet Experience among many others. All events are spectator friendly with walk-up access and admission is free.
