Snowboarders Continue National Challenge at Cranmore

NORTH CONWAY, New Hampshire ??” Cranmore Mountain Resort, North Conway’s mountain of choice, will be hosting one the United States of America Snowboard Association season-long Boardercross events Sunday, January 30. As part of the New Hampshire Regional Series, snowboarders will race on a specially designed course with jumps and ramps, that resembles a motocross course – but on snowy slopes.

Registration is from 8 to 9 a.m. on the third floor of Cranmore’s Skimobile Station (the main base lodge). All participants must be USASA members and USASA membership racing fees apply. For membership information, snowboarders can visit www.usasa.org. The races will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Boardercoss contestants will earn points in hopes of accumulating enough to qualify for season finals slated for later in the season. On April 2-9, the USASA will host its sixteenth annual National Championships at Colorado’s Copper Mountain Resort. More than 1,200 riders from coast to coast will be invited to participate in the week of snowboard competition and daily festivities. Each of the 36 USASA Regional Series will invite snowboarders and freestyle skiers to compete in five events: Giant Slalom, Slalom, Halfpipe, Slopestyle and Boardercross.

Cranmore will host a USASA Slopestyle event for freeskiers and rider on Saturday, February 5.
