Meet American Skier Kristina Koznick at Whiteface Jan. 29

WILMINGTON, New York ??” The top United States slalom skier, Kristina Koznick, will make an appearance at Whiteface Mountain on Saturday, Jan. 29 in the base lodge Food Court.

Koznick, with three podium finishes on the World Cup tour in 2004-05 including a pair of runner-up performances, will ski with NYSEF athletes on Saturday. She will conclude the on-hill portion of her day at 2 PM by inviting Whiteface guests to ski down Lower Valley with her. Skiers should meet at the mid-station lodge.

From there, “Koz” will hold an autograph session in the Food Court until 3:30. The Minnesota native will train for several days at Whiteface Mountain before departing next week for the World Alpine Skiing Championships in Bormio, Italy.

Koznick has been on two Olympic teams and won six World Cup slalom races in her career. She has been on the World Cup podium a total of 20 times.

This marks the second season that Koznick has worn the LAKE PLACID brand while on the tour. With all World Cup events televised, the region continues to gain valuable exposure at home and abroad with this outstanding ski racer.
