Albany Ski and Snowboard Expo Announces Donation Drive for Hurricane Sandy Relief
ALBANY, N.Y., November 1, 2012 – Organizers of the Albany Ski & Snowboard Expo announced today that donations will be collected during this weekend’s event to assist in the relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy.
Ed Lewi Associates, owner of the Albany Ski & Snowboard Expo, will match up to $5,000 of donations collected for the American Red Cross over the course of the three-day expo, which commences on Friday, November 2.
Donations will help the American Red Cross respond to the needs of those impacted by Hurricane Sandy and other related storms that occurred in New York during 2012. The dollars collected will help the American Red Cross prepare for and respond to these storms; as well as provide services such as food, shelter and emotional support to those impacted across the state.
“The Capital Region is very fortunate to have dodged this storm,” said Mark Bardack, president of Ed Lewi Associates. “Tropical Storms Irene and Lee taught us the value and importance of neighbors helping neighbors. I feel strongly that it is our moral responsibility to reciprocate and provide support for those who need our help the most as they begin the arduous recovery process.”
Expo patrons will be invited to make monetary donations at the door of the 51st annual Albany Ski & Snowboard Expo, presented by Alpin Haus, which will take place at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, NY, on Friday, November 2 from 4 – 9 p.m.; Saturday, November 3 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Sunday, November 4 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
