Wildcat Mountain’s 2nd Annual 100K Day Challenge for Make-A-Wish Foundation

PINKHAM NOTCH, New Hampshire ??” On Monday, March 7, 2005, skiers and riders will converge at Wildcat Mountain to take part in a unique event??”Wildcat’s 2nd 100K Day. This day-long event is a test to see who’s tough enough to tackle 100,000 vertical feet in one day of skiing or riding??”48 runs down the Lynx trail, 2,112 feet of vertical per run, all in one day. And it’s all for a great cause. The 100K Day is a fundraising event for the Make-A-Wish Foundation?В®, an organization which “grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to in order to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.”

From 7:30am to 4:30pm, registered skiers and riders will have the chance to knock off 100K of vertical in a single day via the Wildcat Express, New Hampshire’s fastest high-speed detachable quad chairlift. From there, contestants will head down the Lynx, which will be their own personal playground for the day. Last year 26 out of 27 participants met the 100K challenge, with Pamela Jezukawitz raising the most money for Make-a-Wish and Steve Briggs clocking the most vertical with 61 trips up the Quad and down the Lynx.

The registration fee is $55, or $30 for Wildcat Season Pass Holders. The field is limited to 50 contestants, and each participant must have a minimum of $250 in pledges for the benefit of Make-a-Wish Foundation paid before event day, March 7th. Helmets are required for the event, but all ages and abilities are welcome to come up to Wildcat and see if they have what it takes to ski 100,000 feet of vertical in a single day. The event will be followed by an Awards Banquet and Dinner in Wildcat’s Pub. Top prizes will be awarded to the top fund-raisers for Make-A-Wish?В®.
