800 Free Lift Tickets Available at Albany Ski & Snowboard Expo, presented by Alpin Haus

New and returning sponsors offering free lift tickets, new discounts and attractions to enrich the family-friendly three-day winter sports preview

ALBANY, N.Y., October 11, 2012 – The Albany Ski & Snowboard Expo, presented by Alpin Haus, today announced the return of its popular lift ticket giveaway: 800 guests will receive free lift tickets and 400 will receive buy-one-get-one-free lift tickets over the three-day winter sports extravaganza.

The Albany Ski & Snowboard Expo will mark 51 years beginning Friday, November 2 through Sunday, November 4 at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, N.Y.

The Expo also announced its lineup of sponsors, including Dunkin’ Donuts, the preferred partner of exclusive $2 discount coupons to the Expo. The coupons will be available at over 70 participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant locations throughout the Capital Region beginning on Monday, October 22.

The first 400 guests attending the Expo on Friday evening will receive buy-one, get-one free lift tickets for Mount Snow with full-paid adult admission or advance ticket purchase. Also, the first 400 guests attending the Expo on Saturday and the first 400 guests on Sunday will receive free lift tickets to various mountains in New York State provided by I Ski NY with full-paid adult admission or advance ticket purchase, including: Belleayre Mountain; Catamount; Gore Mountain; Hunter Mountain; Oak Mountain; Plattekill Mountain; West Mountain; Whiteface Mountain; and Windham Mountain.

Offer on both the buy-one, get-one on Friday and the free lift tickets Saturday and Sunday are strictly limited to one per customer. All lift tickets have redemption restrictions. Check website for details.

Guests who hold tickets to the Friday night movie premier at the Egg of Jeremy Jones’ Further, by award-winning producers Teton Gravity Research, will be able to receive the discounted admission price of $5 to the Expo on Friday only by presenting their Further ticket at the Expo box office. Those guests with tickets to Friday’s Albany Devils game at the Times Union Center will also be able to purchase tickets to the Expo for only $5 on Friday at the Expo box office. (No offer can be combined with any other offer.)

Hannaford Supermarkets is returning as a show sponsor, along with Dunkin’ Donuts, Saratoga and North Creek Railway, NBT Bank, and the show’s lead presenter, Alpin Haus, the Capital Region’s largest independent ski and snowboard shop.

New to the three-day winter celebration this year is the Saratoga and North Creek Railway “Snow Me” Photo Contest, where fans can take pictures of themselves in front of a skiing/snowboarding backdrop at the Expo. Participants who upload the photo to their Facebook walls with a caption about the show, and confirm the upload at the Railway’s booth, will be eligible to win prizes, including tickets on this winter’s Snow Train to Gore Mountain.

Hannaford Supermarkets is returning to host the popular Hannaford Family Fun Zone on Saturday and Sunday of the Expo. The family-friendly area will be located on the stage and feature a variety of free activities and entertainment for the younger winter sports fans, including: a sports activity provided by Afrim’s Sports; face painting provided by Tiny Tots Tea Room; and engaging craft activities provided by the Children’s Museum at Saratoga on Saturday and Kids Out and About on Sunday. Children are invited to visit the Hannaford Supermarkets Kids’ Station to design and color their own reusable shopping bags and aprons.

The Albany Ski & Snowboard Expo’s three-day event will provide winter sports enthusiasts with an early look at must-haves for the 2012-13 season, including the newest in winter sporting equipment, fashion and travel from the industry’s leading retailers and manufacturers offering huge early season discounts. In addition, the industry’s top mountains and resorts from throughout the Northeast, West and Canada will be represented in Albany.

Admission at the door is $8. All children 10 years old and under, accompanied by a paid adult, will be admitted free.

As many as 30 manufacturers will be represented with over 160 cars, trucks, sport utility vehicles, and minivans on display.
