Attitash Opens for the 2006-07 Ski Season
BARTLETT, New Hampshire — Attitash in Bartlett, New Hampshire started their lifts for the season on Friday, December 8th. Home to the State’s Most Powerful Snowmaking System and a dedicated crew of snowmakers and groomers Attitash was able to kick-off the season with top to bottom skiing and riding.
“We are thrilled to get our guests out on the snow and start skiing and riding for the season,” said John Lowell, managing director at Attitash. “We work year-round to offer a great product and experience for our skiing and riding enthusiasts. Today is the beginning of a much anticipated and exciting season at the resort.”
The first guests of the season riding the Flying Yankee High Speed Quad were lifetime passholder George Folland with his wife Pat Fitcher and ski buddy John Brolio. Absent was Sam Egbert who has been the first lift rider of the season for many years. (Sam was out of town but will likely be on the first chair everyday for the remainder of the season.)
“I have skied Attitash as long as I can remember,” said Fitcher. “Last year we skied around 65 days, I have recently retired after 35 years of teaching, I am looking forward to skiing everyday this season.”
The month of December is booked with events and activities for guests beginning with a Food Flurry and EMS Telemark Demo Day on Saturday, December 9th. Guests arriving with 3 cans of non-perishable food can qualify for the Food Flurry $25 lift ticket to ski. Friday, December 15th is a Free Day. Later in December families visiting the resort will be greeted by special visitors SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora The Explorer. They arrive for Attitash Winter Week featuring Nickelodeon on December 27-31, 2006. On December 31st Attitash will kick off a four event freeride series with the highly competitive Bud Light Rail Jam offering $2,000 in cash prizes.
