Belleayre Begins Snowmaking in an Effort to Open November 13
Belleayre Mountain joined other Northeast ski areas on Thursday morning by beginning to make snow for the 2004-2005 ski season. Belleayre, located in Highmount, New York has a vertical drop of 1,404 feet and 171 skiable acres.
“Wednesday morning Mother Nature started to tease us with some snow flurries, then over night she let the temperature drop enough to fire up the guns,” said Belleayre marketing representative Dawn Bauer. “With the temperatures dropping down to about 19 degrees it was enough to get the snowmakers out on the hill and the white stuff flying,” Bauer added.
