April 4, 2011 Highmount, NY ~ April Fools Spring! A storm came through at the end of last week and dropped four more inches of fresh, wet snow on upstate New York. There is nothing like spring skiing at Belleayre and Belleayre will be open for skiing until at least April 10th as the Beach Party continues. It may be April, but the mountain still feels like skiing in mid February. Belleayre is operating more lifts & trails with a greater base than many of the other local Mountains as we have never had this much coverage this late in the season. As the season winds down Belleayre’s calendar is still filled with events such as the Pop Quiz Bump Race, the Winni/Belle/Wana Relay Race and the annual Long Drive Competition. And be sure to save the lift ticket from this coming weekend because it will be a Buy One Get One good for the 2011-2012 skiing and riding season.

Pop Quiz Bump Race ~ Wednesday, April 6th
Dedicated to skiing and riding the bumps- Show your skills starting at 1pm on Lower Wanatuska. Riders & skiers will race for the fastest timed line down the Lower Wanatuska bumps. Prizes will be awarded in the alpine, telemark and snowboard categories. Registration is at noon on the Overlook Deck. This is a free and fun event! Helmets are required.

Winni/Belle/Wana Relay Race ~ Saturday, April 9th
Teams of three will race through all the best bumps Belleayre has to offer. This is a head to end elimination challenge so be prepared for multiple runs for advancing teams. Registration will be at noon on the Overlook Deck and the competition will begin at 1pm. This is a free event. Helmets are required.

Long Drive Competition ~ Sunday, April 10th
Get your golf swing back to par at the Superintendent’s Long Drive Competition. Entry is free to hit that little ball as far as you can down the slopes behind Overlook Lodge! Belleayre provides the clubs and balls. Competition begins at 1 pm.

$20 Wednesdays, $25 Customer Appreciation Fridays and Potter Brothers Flex Sundays
April 6 is a $20 Wednesday, April 8th is a $25 Customer Appreciation Friday and Sunday, April 10 is a Potter Brothers Flex Day. Please note that Potter Brothers Flex Tickets cannot be purchased at Belleayre Mountain and must be purchased at Potter Brothers stores ahead of time. Buy your ticket at any Potter Brothers store for only $27.95. Please check Potter stores for their respective hours of operation.
