EAST BURKE, Vermont — By donating $5 from every lift ticket sale and all proceeds from a speed trap race on Sunday, April 1, Burke Mountain raised $1,050 for Relay for Life, the largest fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

The Caledonia County Relay for Life, chaired by Fred Laferriere, Mike Lumbra, and Paula Brown, is an overnight walking relay that raises money for the ACS. This year, it will be held on Saturday, June 9 at the St. Johnsbury Academy track.

Laferriere expressed his gratitude for the mountain, “I think it’s excellent that Burke has sponsored this event.”
