Burke Mountain’s Tamarack Grill Featured on New England Cable Network
EAST BURKE, Vermont ??” The Tamarack Grill, and Executive Chef, Steve Grimes, will be featured on the popular New England Cable Network (NECN) restaurant show, “TV Diner with Billy Costa.” The weekly show features host Billy Costa reviewing the best restaurants in New England and offering cooking tips with the region’s best chefs. The segment featuring Mr. Grimes will include the Tamarack Grill’s chef presenting some of his favorite dishes with Mr. Costa, along with footage of the restaurant and ski area.
The episode of “TV Diner with Billy Costa” featuring Chef Grimes will air exclusively on NECN on Saturday morning, January 14th, at 10:00am, and then repeat at 7:00pm that evening. Reruns will appear at 3:00pm each day from January 16th through the 20th.
The Tamarack Grill is a modern American bistro offering contemporary regional cuisine. Before coming to Burke Mountain, Mr. Grimes was executive sous-chef at the four-star, four diamond Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida. Prior to that, he was chef de cuisine at Bistro AIX in Jacksonville, during which time the restaurant was named “Best of Jacksonville” four years in a row. Mr. Grimes has also served as a chef in the renowned Jacksonville hotel, Juliet’s??”the first in Florida to win the prestigious Governor Sterling Award for Quality. While working for the Omni Corporation at Atlanta’s CNN Center during the 1996 Summer Olympics, Mr. Grimes was asked to serve the gold-medal winning US Olympic Basketball — the “Dream Team” — breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a month. Says Grimes of what inspired him to become a chef, “Growing up with a grandmother who was herself an excellent chef, great food was elemental to great times. I enjoy sharing my love of great food when I prepare meals for my guests.”
The Tamarack Grill in Burke Mountain’s Sherburne Base Lodge serves dinner Wednesday through Sunday from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, and is also open for lunch on weekends from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
