FRANCONIA, New Hampshire — From a new terrain park geared toward the littler crowd to fun events just for kids, Cannon Mountain has plenty to offer young skiers and riders this winter.

“With its diverse terrain and programs for all ages and abilities, more and more families are discovering what a true family mountain Cannon is,” said Marketing Director Amy Bassett. “Cannon has many generations of families skiing together.”

The Tuckerbrook Family Area, featuring several beginner and intermediate runs, is separated from more advanced skiing and riding traffic, providing a perfect learning area for all ages and an ideal spot for families to enjoy a day on the slopes together.

An exciting addition to Cannon this year is Huckerbrook, a small terrain park geared toward younger children and those looking to try a terrain park, but apprehensive about starting with the big jumps of the Toss-Up Freestyle Terrain Park. Huckerbrook features two boxes, two flat rails, and two designer hits for new jumpers and the future hucksters in your family.

To further entice families, tickets for the Tuckerbrook area, including Huckerbrook, are only $30 for the day. Kids 5 years old and younger always ski free. Cannon offers a convenient drop-off area adjacent to the Tuckerbrook area and the Peabody Lodge to provide easy access for families.

Cannon Mountain also hosts several kid-centered events throughout the winter, starting with a Beach Party January 12th. Children will be invited to participate in beach-themed games on the slopes. All kids events begin at 1:30pm on the Brookside trail.

Other kids events planned for the season include football fun on February 3rd to coincide with Super Bowl XLII, a Mardi Gras party February 9th, a scavenger hunt on the slopes February 23rd, a Saint Patrick??™s Day celebration March 16th, and an Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday ??“ March 23rd.

Cannon Mountain has 60 trails, 9 lifts, and terrain for all ability levels. Cannon has the longest vertical drop and the highest lift-served terrain in New Hampshire. With New Hampshire??в„ўs only aerial tramway, Cannon is located directly off I-93 in Franconia Notch State Park.
