Catamount launches Mountain Dew ‘Rock and Ride Ski Parties’
SOUTH EGREMONT, MA ??” Catamount Ski Area, on the Massachusetts/New York state line in the Berkshire Mountains, will launch its new ‘Rock and Ride Ski Parties Presented by Mountain Dew’ this Saturday. The inaugural Rock and Ride party will feature a rail jam in the resort’s newly expanded terrain park and DJ music in the base lodge.
“Our intent with this program is to provide a healthy, alternative activity for teenagers on Saturday nights,” said resort General Manager Bill Gilbert. “Rock and Ride provides outdoor activity and social interaction for teens.”
Mountain Dew is co-sponsoring the event, which will continue on Saturday night for the next ten weeks, weather permitting.
This weekend, Catamount plans to offer skiing and riding on at least 24 of its 32 trails. The resort will also add at least three elements to its terrain park prior to the weekend. Weather forecasts for the weekend currently indicate seasonably cold temperatures and a return to round-the-clock snowmaking temperatures after a brief warmup this week.
“We’ll be using the return to normal winter weather to add snow to open terrain, and bring Catamount to 100% open status,” said Gilbert.
