HUNTER, New York ??” Since 1975, Hunter Mountain has delighted crowds with the exuberance of German culture and heritage at the annual German Alps Festival. In it’s 30th year, the 2005 Festival will continue the beloved celebration of Bavaria on August 13-14th. A renowned lineup of entertainers with roots in Germany, Austria and the United States will fill the Mountains with festive song during a weekend-long celebration of authentic German-American music and cuisine, spirited dance, unique crafts and German-import beers.

This year’s German Alps Festival will feature a live performance by the premier German Entertainer Tony Marshall, who will revisit the stage at Hunter Mountain after many years. Additional performances by fourteen-time Grammy winner Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra, plus the Radlpass Trio from Austria, Die Schlaubeger, and the Dominoes International Orchestra will delight visitors with a variety of traditional and modern German music. The Austrian Boys and Eric Baal will provide additional entertainment in the Bier Garden and Pub. Polka enthusiasts can look forward to a traditional accordion jam on Sunday August 14th.

This year’s Festival is sponsored by Spaten, Dinkel Acker, FranziskanerWeissbier, and Lowenbrau, who will be providing plenty of beer for the bier garden, filling each visitor’s glass with original brew from Bavaria. German food vendors will also tempt the palate with exquisite tastes of old and new world Germany.
