Celebrating Winter at Cannon Mountain
FRANCONIA, New Hampshire — Cannon Mountain has surpassed it’s average annual snowfall total as it rolls into vacation weeks.
“We have been very fortunate to have received over 177″ of snow this year,” stated John DeVivo General Manager. “Our snowmaking and groomers have done an exceptional job this year to enhance to what Mother Nature has given us.”
On Saturday, February 23rd, Cannon Mountain will be hosting the Jimmy Hann Memorial Race. The race is held in memory of a long time Cannon instructor, and benefits the Norris Cotton Cancer Center. After skiing/riding, Cannon will be having a torchlight parade, fireworks and apr??s parties geared for adults and children. At 4pm children will begin their party with Mr. Phil and Co., magic show and balloon twisting, it will include food and fun. At the same time the adults can enjoy “Phil and the Blanks” in the Lift Pub. Torchlight parade will begin at 6:15pm with fireworks to follow.
Also on Saturday and Sunday, Cannon Mountain will be host to the J-III State Championships with racing on Turnpike. These racers are potential future US Ski Team athletes and Olympians.
Next week, during New Hampshire vacation week, Cannon Mountain will be offering their traditional 2-for-$60 Tuesdays and Thursdays and $25 New Hampshire Resident day on Wednesday.
Cannon Mountain has 60 trails, 9 lifts, and terrain for all ability levels. Cannon has the longest vertical drop and the highest lift-served terrain in New Hampshire. With New Hampshire’s only aerial tramway, Cannon is located directly off I-93 in Franconia Notch State Park.
