WATERVILLE VALLEY, New Hampshire — New Hampshire’s Waterville Valley Resort has scheduled another line-up of special event weekends for summer 2007. May 27:Eighth Annual Chili Challenge

Waterville Valley area restaurants set up in the resort’s Town Square to vie for the title of the best chili around. There will be a small fee for sampling and then guests vote for their favorite chili. There’s an outdoor concert with Ricky & The Giants from 12 noon to 3 p.m. followed by the amazing Juggling Jim show at 3 p.m.

July 4: Independence Day Celebration

Waterville Valley’s Independence Day 2007 parade is at 3 p.m. followed by an outdoor concert from 6:30-9:30 with The Hot Tamales. The evening ends with fireworks over Corcoran’s Pond at 9:30 p.m.

July 7-8: Winter Carnival Weekend

Bring the family and enjoy a taste of winter in July at Waterville Valley. Winter-themed activities include snowball toss, frozen shirt challenge, ginger bread workshops and much more. Juggling Jim on Saturday at 3 pm. Live outdoor concert with the Lisa Young and Co from 6-9 pm.

July 21: 2nd Annual Bluegrass Festival

The Bluegrass Festival is held in Town Square, rain or shine, with live performances all day. The full day festival starts at noon with bands, kid’s activities, the Travelin’ Barnyard, face painting, and BBQ, followed by fireworks at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 for 18+, $5 for teens and complimentary for kids 12 and under. 18+ admission includes a raffle ticket for a prize drawing Saturday night. August 4: 8th Annual Chocolate & Jazz Festival

Head to Waterville Valley for a smooth treat for the senses on Saturday, August 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. An outdoor concert will feature the smooth jazz of the Tom Robinson Jazz Trio. A selection of smooth, chocolate temptations will be prepared by Town Square merchants.

September 2: End of Summer Bash and Fireworks

Enjoy an outdoor concert from Sole City from 12-3 pm, kids games from 1-4 pm, and the Jim Devlin Band playing classic rocks hits from 6-9 p.m. The Summer Bash also features the annual charity Duck Race with cash prizes, games and prizes for all ages. The day ends with fireworks over Corcoran’s Pond at 9 p.m.
