HIGHMONT, NY ??” It’s time to dig into the back of that closet and grab a coat (gently used, please) that you haven’t had on your back in a while. Bring it to Guest Services at the Overlook or Discovery Lodge at Belleayre on January 9 for the annual Coat Drive Donation Sunday and you’ll be rewarded with an all day lift ticket for $25. It’s a good deed and the donor benefits too.

Saturday, January 8 is the day to don your racing gear when Belleayre Mountain, in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley/Rockland/Westchester Chapter and Clear Channel Radio, is holding the 2nd annual Grand Slalom Challenge “Race to Remember.”

Pre-register by 5:00 Friday, January 7, and the $20 entry fee will include a lift ticket. Registering on the day of the race adds the price of an all day ticket to the entry fee. It’s a real win-win for everyone as all registration fees are tax deductible and are donated to the very worthy Alzheimer’s Association. For registration and additional information, call 800-872-0994 or log on to www.alzhudsonvalley.org.

If you’ve been having the blues stuck on the greens, Ticket to the Top is the workshop for you. This is the one that offers to move you to the summit after just four Sundays with Belleayre’s instructors. This can be done in three separate sessions and works for boarding as well as skiing. Check it out on Sunday the 9th.

The Women’s Seminar program begins on Monday, January 10. Start your day with breakfast in the Overlook, participate in a women’s ski clinic taught by one of Belleayre’s outstanding women instructors, have lunch and conversation with a well known guest speaker and continue your day with more clinics. Free nursery service is available as well. Reservations are required. All inclusive price is $100. This is a great way to spend your Belleayre Gift Card. Belleayre is a happening place all winter long. Connect by phone 800-942-6904 or www.belleayre.com.
