NORTH CREEK, New York — Gore Mountain snowmakers have been extremely productive, maintaining great conditions on the lower mountain, as well as working on summit terrain. Guests should look for more trails opening for the upcoming New Year’s weekend, adding to the six miles currently available.

January begins “2-for-1” Wednesdays with Coca-Cola! Starting January 3, present a Coca-Cola product any Wednesday of the season to receive a free one-day lift ticket, with the purchase of a full-price adult lift ticket! Guests should check the Gore Mountain website throughout the season for other special offers and theme days available in conjunction with Coca-Cola Wednesdays.

The month of January will kick off several exciting promotions and events! The first official weekend of 2007 will be celebrated at Gore with the Lincoln Logs Fireworks Spectacular and Torchlight Parade on Saturday, January 6 at dusk in the base area. Immediately following the free show, guests are invited to enjoy the music of popular Adirondack entertainer Mitch Frasier in the Tannery Pub.

January 6 also begins several programs from the Snow Sports School, including the start of Mountain Adventure Programs for children and weekend adult clinics. New this year, “Exploring the Backcountry” will offer intermediate and advanced telemark skiers a great program to not only improve skiing techniques, but also learn about outdoor topics including map and compass use, avalanche safety, wax and skin use for climbing, and much more. The program meets every Saturday January 6- February 10.

Sunday, Janaury 7 will feature the hysterical “Snow Won’t Stop Us” Mountain Bike Dual Slalom at 11am, as well as an all-day demo from Goldstock’s. The demo day will offer skis from Atomic, Nordica, Rossignol, and Goode, and both skis and snowboards from Head.

Vacationers can enjoy outstanding value from January 2-12 by taking advantage of “January Jamboree” getaways. This special ski and stay opportunity offers guests 40% off vacations of three or more nights.
