Hunter Mountain Celebrates the Grand Opening of the Kaatskill Mountain Club
HUNTER, New York ??” Hunter Mountain celebrated the grand opening of its most recent achievement and largest improvement to date, the Kaatskill Mountain Club, during an evening ceremony held Thursday October 6th. The new slopeside resort opened for business in August 2005, and is the first of its kind in Greene County, providing mountain guests with a high-end lodging option, year round.
The Kaatskill Mountain Club features 109 guest rooms, in addition to amenities including a year-round outdoor pool, full service spa, fitness center, health club and Van Winkle’s, the Club’s Bistro Restaurant, in addition to conference and wedding accommodations, all located directly slopeside to Hunter Mountain’s famous slopes.
Government officials, community members and Hunter Mountain staff members gathered together in the beautifully decorated Great Room for the ribbon cutting ceremony, which took place after a selection of speeches were presented by Slutzky Family members, who have owned and operated Hunter Mountain since 1960. The Kaatskill Mountain Club will not only raise the bar for slopeside accommodations in the Hunter area, but hopes to attract new visitors to the region year round, transforming Hunter into a true four seasons destination area.
