Lift Maintenance At Cannon Mountain Announced
FRANCONIA NOTCH, New Hampshire — Cannon Mountain will be performing maintenance on one of its primary lifts next week. On Monday, January 14th & Tuesday, January 15th, previously unscheduled maintenance will be performed on the Peabody Express Quad. The quad will be out of operation on those two days as the cable is re-spliced and re-tucked.
“The maintenance is not safety-related,” stated Lift Operations and Maintenance Manager Bruce Sullivan. “We’ve been experiencing intermittent lift stoppages this year as a result of a miniscule difference in cable diameter at the splice, and from a service perspective, we’d prefer to address the issue now, rather than wait until the end of the season.”
During the planned two-day maintenance period, the Aerial Tramway and Eagle Cliff Triple will operate. The tramway is normally closed on non-holiday Mondays and Fridays, and the Eagle Cliff Triple chair is normally closed during midweek, non-holiday periods. Cannon will also offer an extra 2-for-$60 special on Monday, January 14th. Cannon continues to offer Two-fers on non-holiday Tuesdays and Thursdays (two guests may ski or ride for $60), as well as its NH Resident Day on non-holiday Wednesdays (NH residents may ski or ride for $25 with a valid state ID) and several multi-day lift ticket options.
Cannon Mountain features 60 trails, 9 lifts, and terrain for all ability levels, as well as the largest vertical drop and highest lift-accessed terrain in New Hampshire. With New Hampshire??в„ўs only aerial tramway, Cannon is located directly off I-93 in Franconia Notch State Park.
