Loon Mountain Celebrates the Season With Its Annual Ring in the Winter Celebration

LINCOLN, New Hampshire — With top to bottom terrain open for its skiers and riders, Loon Mountain, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, is off to a fantastic start for the 2007-2008 winter season. Snowmaking continues around the clock when conditions permit, and more trails are scheduled to open this weekend.

Loon will host its annual Ring in the Winter Celebration on December 8 & 9. This is a fundraiser for the local Angel Tree Project in Plymouth, NH. Guests can purchase a single jingle bell for $5, or three for $10. Angel Tree uses all donations to provide holiday gifts to local children and teenagers whose families cannot afford to purchase gifts during this holiday season.

Other upcoming Loon Mountain events include:

December 8: Open Season Jib Series I- First of a four-event jib series in the terrain park. Open to all ages, and separate prize categories for skiers and riders.

December 15: Demo Day- Test the latest equipment from ski and snowboard manufacturers. Registration in the Governor’s Lodge from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the cost is $10 per person. Participants must be at least 18 years or older, have a driver’s license or charge card, and have a lift ticket or season pass.

December 24: Christmas Eve Candlelight Service- Governor’s Lodge.

December 29: Open Season Jib Series II- Second of a four-event jib series in the park. Open to all ages, and separate prize categories for skiers and riders.

January 5: Village Ski Shop Tele Demo- Great opportunity to test out the exciting sport of telemarking.
