LINCOLN, New Hampshire ??” As a result of the fantastic spring conditions and deep snow base, Loon Mountain plans to keep lifts running through April 17. Spring skiers and boarders will have the opportunity enjoy sunshine, warmer temperatures and great spring conditions well into April.

While the warm sun beams down on the slopes, Loon’s King of Spring events and competitions are also heating up. It all begins Saturday, April 2, when Loon hosts the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge Eastern Finals. This series, which began in December and visited 34 resorts, will crown its champions on the slopes of Loon with plenty of games, music and prizes for everyone. This is the largest event of the season at Loon with 1,600 racers and more than a thousand spectators expected. The festivities will take place outside the Governor’s Lodge with the racers running gates on the Coolidge Street trail.

On Saturday, April 9, the much-anticipated Slush Pool Party will provide thrills, spills and chills for participants and spectators alike. This event is open to the first 75 registrants, ages ten and older. Registration is free and will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. in the Octagon Lodge. The pool skimming adventures begin at noon. Prizes will be awarded to those who make it across the pool with style … and to those with the best wipeout who don’t.

The hottest apr??s ski party of the season heats up following the slush pool extravaganza. In the Bunyan Room, the Hooters girls will help warm up those slushy skiers and riders with some hot tunes, cold Coors Light and some Hooters wings.
