HANCOCK, Massachusetts ??” Construction is complete on Jiminy Peak’s newest addition to Mountain Adventure Park. The Mountain Coaster opened to the public earlier this month.

The Mountain Coaster is manufactured by Wiegand, of Germany, and is the first on the East Coast and only the second in the entire nation. The ride carries passengers 1,000 feet up the mountain and into the woods before releasing them onto a 2,600 foot long track twisting and turning it’s way to the bottom. Riders control their own speed.

Mountain Adventure Park is open seven days a week, 11 am – 9 pm, weather permitting. The Park features twelve attractions in all, including the Mountain Coaster, the Alpine Slide, Euro-Bungee Trampolines and more. The Berkshire Express will open for the season today taking guests on scenic summit rides and providing mountain bikers with access to the entire mountain.
