VERNON, New Jersey — Thirty up-and-coming regional snowboarders have been invited to compete in the Union Square Street Sessions Qualifier at Mountain Creek on Saturday, December 14th. What better way to christen the new park, than with this presitgious event, complete with coverage by NBC.

Competition will be fierce, as only the winner of this event, and the qualifier at Sunday River, will be entered to compete with the pros at the second annual Union Square Street Sessions in New York City on February 7, 2008. Mountain Creek’s JibLab is already hard at work on the features for February.

But that’s not all. Mountain Creek has festivities planned throughout the day, as guests get their first taste of what will be the Largest Terrain Park in the East. At 7:30am everyone is invited for a Red Bull toast to celebrate the start of the season, and keep an eye out for a Red Bull Rep all day to snag a free can. And the lucky All Access Season Pass holders who snag first chair at South at 8am, will win a Special Blend kit complete with jacket, pants, t-shirt, gloves and more. And Red Special Blend will have a tent in the base area throughout the day playing their new video and giving away tons of free swag.

From 7:00-9:00pm, NBC’s cameras will roll for the Mountain Creek Union Square Street Session Qualifier at the base of South Peak, giving everyone a chance to see which local riders will be at the top of the competition scene this winter. After the comp, the party moves to the new hot spot Kink (21 and older please) on the upper level of the lodge. The DJ will start spinning at 8 o’clock and NYC rap trio and MTV artists Team Facelift take the stage for their first set at 9 www.teamfacelift.com with the party going strong all night. But be sure to stick around for Last Call because Special Blend will be buying the last round of the night.
