VERNON, NJ ??” Mountain Creek has expanded and enhanced their commitment to terrain parks for the 2004-2005 season, and eagerly anticipates the opening of the Main Park on Vernon Peak this weekend. Mountain Creek’s five parks feature terrain for every ability-level on over 50 acres and will include 40 jibs and 20 jumps, plus the Olympic-standard Superpipe.

Several new features will be introduced this season, including the custom JibLab designed 16′ x 24′ Apexed Wallride, a one-of-a kind monster which will reside in the Main Park, as well as six new boxes including two 22′ Slant Boxes, a 32′ x 6′ Upslope Box, a 32″ Kink Box and a 22′ Wide Box. Other major features returning this season include the Independence Hip Jump, 54′ S-Rail, 60′ Rollercoaster Rail, 45′ Flat/Down/Flat Rail, and the 32′ Down/Flat/Down Rail.

Guests can check out the incredibly popular new web feature, the Jib Lab Chronicles, which features a new video each week documenting the fabrication and design of the features. Visit www.mountaincreek.com/video_gallery.html.

Mountain Creek has also added two new intro-level parks and the Park Pass, which will be required to access the more advanced Main Park on Vernon Peak only. Recognizing an opportunity to promote safety and education while also improving our guest experience and reducing crowding, Mountain Creek now requires the purchase of a $5 Park Pass, valid for the entire season, to access the Main Park on Vernon Peak. The Park Pass can be purchased at the Park Pass Shack at the top of the Cabriolet Gondola, and will not be required for any of the other freestyle terrain, including the Superpipe.

Mountain Creek’s commitment for this season included adding 10 new members to the JibLab crew, as well as over $150,000 worth of snowmaking improvements to the Superpipe, including four new Crystal Turbo Fan Guns. The resort has also made a stronger commitment to building snow features including jumps, hips and spines by empowering the Jib Lab to direct their snowmaking and grooming efforts.
