Okemo Ammounces February Event Line-up

LUDLOW, Vermont ??” With base depths averaging a deep 30 to 44 inches and nearly 100% of Okemo’s slopes and trail open, skiers and riders are sure to experience the best that the month of February has to offer.

Glades, steeps, bumps, long intermediate cruisers and gentle terrain…take your pick! If it’s high-flying action you’re looking for, the SoBe Super Pipe, the new Hot Dog Hill Half Pipe and five Terrain Parks are all in prime condition.

Free Your Heels — Try Telemark Skiing!
It’s new this season! The Okemo Cutting Edge Learning Center offers Telemark Instruction for levels 1-4. Telemark instruction is offered every Tuesday, starting from the Okemo base area and every Thursday from the Jackson Gore base (February 22 and 24 are excluded).

Here’s what you get: Atomic performance Telemark ski rentals, a 2-hour group lesson at 10:00 am (levels 1-4), and a lower mountain lift ticket all for just $85. Free your heels and try something new! Okemo’s Advantage One-On-One Private Instruction:
Select the hour that works for you with an 8:30 am or 2:30 pm time-slot and take advantage of a discounted Private Lesson rate. You can start the day with a one-hour private or hit the slopes and end the day with some great one-on-one instruction. Advantage Private Lessons are $65 and reservations are necessary. Sat, Feb 12: Vermont Specialty Foods Sampling Day. The Vermont Specialty Foods Sugar House will be outside the Sitting Bull with Free Sugar on Snow and other Vermont made specialties. Come by and taste some of Vermont’s finest treats!
Sat, Feb 12: WZLX Radio day featuring on-mountain fun and an Apr??s Ski Party in the Sitting Bull from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
Sat, Feb 12: Sierra Nevada Apr??s Ski Party at Vermont Pizza Co. (above The Roundhouse at Jackson Gore) from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
Sat, Feb 12: Hopefuls Race on the NASTAR course at 10:00 am.
Sun, Feb 13: J4/5 Council Dual Race on the Wardance trail. Starts at 9:30 am
Sun, Feb 13: ???DO THE SLOPE??В¦NOT THE DOPE??? Race and Fun day. Come join local teens and families as they participate in Fun Races on NASTAR and scour the mountain in a Scavenger Hunt. Register from 8:00 am to 11:00 am, and the race Starts at 1:00 pm. Raffle and Awards at 4:00 pm.
Sun, Feb 13: Sitting Bull entertainment featuring the melodies of Chris Kleeman from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Mon, Feb. 14: Valentine??в„ўs Day with confections provided by M&M Mars. Have a romantic dinner at the Coleman Brook Tavern or at Willie Dunn??в„ўs Grille.
Tues, Feb 15: Innkeepers Race Series on the Wardance trail. Starts at 10 am.
Thurs, Feb 16: High School Super Pipe Snowboard event starting at 1:00 pm. Watch the action with our local high school super-stars! For more information contact the Competition Department at 228-1483.
Fri, Feb 18: Guinness Toast in the Sitting Bull from 3:00 to 6:00 pm featuring entertainment by Guy Burlage.
Sat-Fri, Feb. 19-25: Snickers SnowFest Week. Candy samplings all week long (while they last) with a variety of ???delectable delights” from M&M Mars.

Sun, Feb. 20: Torchlight Parade & Fireworks Display. Beginning at 7:30 pm at the Okemo Base Area. Watch the torchlight parade of Okemo employees ski/snowboard down the mountain followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
Sun, Feb. 20: Vermont Pure Spring Water Snowshoe Tour co-sponsored by Atlas Snowshoes. Snowshoe Tour departs the Okemo Base Area at 7:00 pm and head up the Bull Run trail for a bird??в„ўs-eye view of the fireworks.
Mon, Feb. 21: Live entertainment featuring RHUMBOOGIE in the Sitting Bull from 3:00 pm 6:00 pm.
Tues, Feb. 22: Live entertainment featuring The LUSTRE KINGS in the Sitting Bull from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Wed, Feb. 23: Family Presentation featuring the Vermont Institute of Natural Science??в„ўs ???A Raptor Encounter???. The program will feature a first-hand encounter with live Falcons, hawks and owls. The program is free and open to the public and starts at 7:30 pm in The Roundhouse at Jackson Gore.
Wed, Feb. 23: Live music by the SPIDERS in the Sitting Bull from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
Thurs, Feb. 24: Live entertainment featuring CHRIS KLEEMAN in the Sitting Bull from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
