LUDLOW, Vermont — The IZSTYLE Winter Tour is coming to Okemo Mountain Resort on March 10 and 11. This winter tour features the free Bud Light Concert Series with Fighting Gravity playing during an apr??s ski party in the Sitting Bull on Saturday, March 10. The Richmond, VA, based quintet is revered for their infectious melodies, air-tight rhythms and electrifying live performances.

Keeping in line with Okemo’s “Keep Winter Cool” initiatives, the resort has partnered with IZSTYLE and Reverb to educate skiers and boarders about how they can lessen their impact on the environment and the causes of global warming. On-snow activities will take place all weekend long and include the Reverb Eco Village with alternative energy and transportation exhibits. Founded by Lauren Sullivan and her husband, Guster guitarist and vocalist Adam Gardner, Reverb is a non-profit organization that seeks to raise awareness and support for the environment through building upon the connection between musicians and their fans. The Reverb Eco Village at Okemo will feature all-natural and organic food sampling and free ski and snowboard demos.

Okemo has become an environmental leader in the ski industry for its recent decision to offset 100 percent of its electricity usage with wind-generated power. Tim and Diane Mueller, owners of Okemo Mountain Resort, Mount Sunapee Resort and Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Colorado, are single handedly making a difference. The couple entered into an agreement with Gunnison County Electric Association last summer, to purchase Renewable Energy Certificates from Sterling Planet, the nation’s leading retail renewable energy provider. Demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship, the Muellers have purchased 27 million kilowatt hours of Renewable Energy Certificates. This represents enough renewable power to fully offset the annual use of electricity by the Muellers’ three resorts.
