LUDLOW, Vermont ??” On Sunday, Feb. 26, Okemo Mountain Resort will host the Okemo Series Freeride Event. This slopestyle competition is slated to take place in Okemo’s premier Dew Zone Terrain Park. Registration will start at 8 a.m. in the Mezzanine of the Okemo base lodge. and the event is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $20 and a lift ticket or season pass is required to participate. Prizes will be awarded immediately following the competition.

Open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages, this friendly competition will feature a number of jumps and terrain park elements including Okemo’s new Staircase Feature offering snow sliders three options with a 10-foot flat to 20-foot down. The new 20-foot wide Staircase offers a 15-degree pitch and three features that include a single-barrel down rail straight down the middle and boxes on either side ??“ one with ledges.

Some other elements being introduced this year at Okemo are a U-box, a 20-foot long butterbox, a 30-foot flat-to-down and a new C-box.
