Thirty Breweries, Live Music, Family Games and Golden Chair Raffle to Support Irene Recovery

West Dover, VT (October 3, 2011) – Mount Snow has announced it will combine its Brewers Festival with its Oktoberfest for this year only creating a super-festival called Oktobrewfest over Columbus Day Weekend, October 8 & 9 following the cancellation of the Labor Day Weekend Brewers Festival due to road damage from Tropical Storm Irene. The Southern Vermont Resort has invited 30 breweries to attend which will compliment the traditional German-themed festival’s live Oompah music, family friendly games, German food and the Harvest Arts & Craft Fair.

Raffle tickets will be available all weekend for the opportunity to win the #50 golden chair from Mount Snow’s Grand Summit Express Lift which has been mounted on a custom-built timber frame. Tickets are $5 each with all proceeds going local recovery efforts for those affected by Tropical Storm Irene. Every #50 chair on each of the resort’s chairlifts were painted gold in celebration of Mount Snow’s 50th anniversary in 2004. With this summer’s installation of new chairs on the Grand Summit Express, the old chairs were removed and sold off to guests.

“Brewers Festival and Oktoberfest are our two largest annual events”, said Mount Snow Communications Manager David Meeker. “Combining them for this year is going to make for one incredible event that we think our guests are really going to love.”

Admission is $25 for one day, $35 for both days and that includes a commemorative pint glass along with two tokens for your first two samples compliments of Mount Snow; beer tokens will be $2 each for a half-pint pour. There will be kids activities including games, a hay pile, pumpkin painting, face painting and the famous schnitzel toss. Adults can enjoy a horseshoe tournament, keg toss and the stein holding contest. Lodging packages for Oktobrewfest are available at www.mountsnow.com or by calling Mount Snow’s central reservations line at 800-245-SNOW .
