Fan Guns require 20-25% less compressed air than other technologies, while putting out more snow in marginal temperature conditions. “We will be able to open more terrain faster and sustain it longer through stretches with marginal temperatures. Also, using this type of snowmaking technology provides us with substantial savings in energy costs”, says Blomback.
Also, early season snowmaking capabilities have been upgraded with 3,000 feet of additional snowmaking pipe. “This new pipe will allow us to focus our resources efficiently. Rather then having 20 guns running on two trails this will allow us early season to run 20 guns on the same trail. Hydrants are also being doubled up so early in the game the guns are closer together,” Blomback stated.
