Pats Peak Ski Area Opens for the 2009-2010 Season on Friday, Dec. 11

HENNIKER, New Hampshire — Pats Peak, great family friendly mountain, is opening for the 09/10 season on Friday, December 11, 2009, with some great warm up action with a top to bottom run, Duster down through Lower East Wind, along with the Bluster and Gusty trails. There will be a terrain park with a half dozen features on the Gusty trail. The Hurricane chairlift and the Bluster carpet will be operating from 8:30am to 4pm. The Rental Shop, Cafeteria, Sled Pub, Ski & Board Shop, Snowsports School and Guest Services will be open.

Ticket prices for Friday are $20 for all ages. Only intermediate skiing/riding will be available from the summit as no beginner trails will be open from the summit.

Pats Peak received a foot of snow from the latest storm. The Pats Peak Snowmaking Team has been hard at work, day and night, making snow to add to the natural snowfall. The snowmaking team will continue to make snow at every opportunity to open additional terrain as soon as possible. Pats Peak continually focuses to improve its facility and experience for their skiers and snowboarders. For the 2009-2010 season, Pats Peak invested another $500,000 creating an incredible capital expenditure of $5,000,000 over the last 5 seasons. The 09-10 season brings with it major improvements to the “Bears Den” for the Kids’ Learning Program, brand new lift-serviced terrain park; increased snowmaking capabilities; major expansion to the Alpine Training Center; new rental equipment; additional parking spaces; new gladed areas and enhancement of the overall guest experience.
