Pico Mountain is a favorite of the telemark community, both for the variety of terrain and uncrowded slopes that all lead back to the Pico Lodge base area. Pico offers telemark lessons through the Perfect Turn Ski and Snowboard School. Perfect Turn telemark instructors at Pico Mountain are among the best in the sport and Pico Mountain has long been regarded as THE mountain to learn telemark skiing from the best!
“The terrain is just perfect for it,” said Peter Kavouksorian, owner of Mountain Travelers Hike and Ski Shop in Killington. “There’s a growing crew of telemarkers that spend most of their time at Pico Mountain because it’s not very crowded and the trail layout lets everyone explore the mountain while staying connected.”
In addition, Pico Mountain hosts Telemark Tuesdays every Tuesday throughout the season and features group telemark lessons at 9:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Plus, telemark lessons take place every weekend at 9:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. for ages 13 and older by reservation only.
