ROXBURY, NY ??” Plattekill Mountain located in the Northern Catskill Mountains of Roxbury, New York will open their doors for the 2004-05 winter season this weekend December 11th & 12th with their beginner area open and free “learn to” ski or snowboard lessons all weekend long.

Beginner area lift tickets ($10) and rentals ($15) have been discounted for the weekend, so for only $25 you can learn to ski or board (regularly $55 and $70 packages respectively).

Their snowtubing park is scheduled to open this Saturday night from 5pm-9pm. Tubers should check the resort website at www.plattekill.com or call the mountain at (607) 326-3500 later in the week for tubing hours as opening status is dependent on weather conditions this week.

The mountain has been blowing snow as much as Mother Nature will allow and hopes to have the whole mountain open next weekend, weather willing.
