Race to Beat Cancer at Cranmore Mountain Resort
NORTH CONWAY, New Hampshire ??” Cranmore Mountain Resort will host the American Cancer Society’s 29th Annual Race to Beat Cancer on Sunday, February 12, 2005. The race is a fundraiser dedicated to help in the fight against cancer. All proceeds from the event will aid in the research and education to help fight cancer.
“This exceptional event will help fund research in the battle against cancer.” said Ben Wilcox, General Manager at Cranmore. “Each year more than a hundred racers come out and raise more than $20,000 in just one day.”
The Race to Beat Cancer is a fun day for skiers, riders and tubers of all ages and abilities. The ski/snowboard race is in NASTAR format and tubers will have the opportunity to go head-to-head on the Arctic Blast Tubing Park for the fastest time. Participants are required to make a minimum contribution of $50 which includes an all-day lift ticket. Prizes will be awarded for raising the most money and first, second and third place finishers in each category. Non-racers can also participate by sponsoring a racer.
Registration is from 8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. at the Arlberg Lodge. The race begins at 10 a.m. and the awards ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Participants can also pre-register by mailing in your form to Race to Beat Cancer, American Cancer Society, 360 Route 101, Unit 8, Bedford, NH 03110 by February 6.
