Recon Instruments Named Official Partner of Third Annual Winter X Games Europe
Recon Instruments’ Head Up Display (HUD) technology provides skiers and riders with real-time performance data, including Jump Analytics direct-to-eye
Tignes, France – March 12, 2012 – Recon Instruments, award winning innovator of Heads-up Display ( HUD) technology for action sport athletes, is excited to be announced as an official partner of the Winter X Games Europe, March 14-16th in Tignes, France. Recon will be on hand in The Interactive X Fest Village and at multiple on-hill sites demoing and giving away MOD Live units. Contestants will have the opportunity to take home the world’s first, and only GPS enabled HUD for alpine goggles.
The MOD Live’s Jump feature is especially popular at events like Winter X Games with its ability to measure and record the height, distance and airtime of each individual jump. Skiers and riders can also take advantage of information including Speed , Buddy Tracking , Smartphone Connectivity , Music Playlist , and pre-loaded Navigation with the largest database of trail maps in the world. MOD Live even transforms into a wireless viewfinder when paired with Contour action cameras so the user can see what they are filming in real-time.
“We are thrilled to be a partner of the Winter X Games Europe. It’s a fantastic event, playing host to the best athletes in the world,” said Oliver Springgay, General Manager – Europe, Recon Instruments. “Our HUD technology not only provides performance data to the user in real-time, it also allows you to see your runs and stats retrospectively, making it an ideal objective marker for pro riders and their amateur fans trying to emulate their feats.”
MOD Live users can relive their day on the slopes with Recon’s HQ Community . Skiers and riders can review all their run data and add images and video to create highlight reels to share with other community members or with friends and family on Facebook and Twitter.
Recon Instruments’ MOD Live snaps into Recon Ready goggles from partners like Uvex, Briko, Zeal Optics, Alpina, and the most recently added Scott and Smith to their growing family of eyewear brands.
MOD Live is available for $399.99 or Euro 360 at www.reconinstruments.com and the major snow sports retailers across the world.
