The BCTIA Awards honour companies in British Columbia for excellence in innovation and development
VANCOUVER, BC – June 22, 2012 – Recon Instruments is proud to announce that it has been presented with the BCTIA Technology Impact Award for Excellence in Product Innovation 2012 for developing the world’s first and only Heads-up Display (HUD) for alpine goggles. The BC Technology Industry Association (BCTIA) is an industry-funded organization committed to growing British Columbia’s technology industry.
Recon Instruments CEO, Dan Eisenhardt said, “To win this prestigious award amongst our peers, which include technology companies of all sizes, from every sector, is a remarkable achievement. It further affirms Recon Instruments leading presence not only in British Columbia, but also around the world, as a cutting edge technology company”.
“Having started-up out of the University of British Columbia, it is a nice feeling to be further recognized here in Vancouver”, Eisenhardt added.
Recon Instruments was acknowledged for successfully bringing the world’s first HUD to the market. HUD solutions have captured the imaginations of forward thinkers for years. Recon Instruments are proud to have been the first to introduce it to the market in an unobtrusive, stylish manner. They are looking forward to bringing this technology to the masses in the form of a sunglasses solution in the near future.
The MOD Live HUD provides skiers and snowboarders with real-time information including Jump Analytics, Navigation, Speed, Buddy Tracking, Smartphone Connectivity, and Music Playlist access direct-to-eye. MOD Live even transforms into a wireless viewfinder when paired with Contour action cameras so the user can see what they are about to film via the Heads-up Display.
MOD Live is available for $399.99 or €360 at www.reconinstruments.com and the major sports retailers.
