BROWNSVILLE, Vermont ??” Skiers and riders will “stir it up” at Ascutney Mountain Resort on Saturday, March 25 for the 7th Annual Red Stripe Reggae Spring Fling. The Soul Shake Down Party features renowned regional reggae bands to complement local favorites. In addition to the sights and sounds of live reggae, skiers and riders can cruise the slopes for an additional half- hour, enjoying extended spring hours until 4:30 p.m.

The weekend kicks off Friday night with live reggae in Brown’s Tavern in the Resort Hotel. The music continues on Saturday on the deck of the base lodge at noon and continues throughout the afternoon. Reggae floats in the air into the evening inside the base lodge again. The concerts are free and open to the public.

While listening to the free spirited music, guests can enjoy an authentic Jamaican barbecue and beverages from Ascutney’s famous Snow Bar. There is also a slopestyle limbo contest on skis next to the base lodge deck, rounding out a true snow beach atmosphere like that of the sands of Jamaica.

Spring skiing complements the live music with warm air and soft snow. Extended hours, which begin on March 11, continue, and Ascutney will keep its lifts open until 4:30 p.m. every day until the end of the season.

Lodging and lift ticket packages are available from March 24-26, 2006 for $79 per person per night (2- night minimum required). The package includes slopeside lodging, lift tickets and complimentary Jamaican barbecue. For reservations and information, guests should call 800.243.0011 or visit www.ascutney.com.
