Ski Sundown Celebrates Spring with a Spectacular Event

NEW HARTFORD, Connecticut — On Sunday, March 22, 2009 the New Hartford ski resort will be the site of the 1st Annual Ski Sundown Super Stupendous Spring Sunday Spectacular. This all day event will include a slopestyle event for skiers in the terrain park on Stinger comparable to The Main Event for snowboarders held in the park earlier in the season, a “Big Air” event by invitation only featuring expert stunts from the East Coast’s best talent and the 2nd “Bump or Bust” Mogul Competition of the season to be held on Gunbarrel, Connecticut steepest trail on a top to bottom 1600′ mogul field like no other in the state. Cash prizes alone for the day’s event will total $2500 with additional prizes awarded from sponsors.

Meathead Films of Burlington, VT, dedicated to creating innovative movies based exclusively in the East, will film segments for their next movie to be released in the fall. Eastern Mountain Sports will supply the cash prizes and other sponsors of the day’s events include Suburban Sports of Berlin, CT, Nordica and Smith Optics. This will be a day for showmen, showwomen and spectators alike with stunts, sport shops, sizzling steaks, and spring snow!

Ski Sundown is open 7 days and 7 nights a week with Saturday and Sunday hours from 8am until 10pm and weekday hours from 9am until 10pm.

Ski Sundown is located at 126 Ratlum Rd (off Rtes. 44 & 219) in New Hartford, Connecticut and has 15 trails and varied terrain to suit any level skier or snowboarder and ski and snowboard lessons for all abilities ages 4 and older.
