The week of January 5-13, 2008 has been designated for the Ski Vermont New Year’s Resolution program. First time skiers and snowboarders are invited to sign up to learn to ski or ride at a resort of their choice any time during this week. The program is open to all beginner skiers and snowboarders ages 6 and up. Packages include lessons, rentals and a limited terrain lift ticket.
Participating Resorts this season include Ascutney, Bolton, Bromley, Burke, Jay Peak, Killington, Mad River Glen, Middlebury, Mount Snow, Okemo, Smugglers’ Notch, Stratton, Sugarbush and Suicide Six.
“For many, it will be their first time trying a snowsport. As a skier myself, I plan to get on the mountain with my sister and try snowboarding for the first time,” Jen Butson, Vermont Ski Areas Association Public Affairs Director said. “Why not be versatile on the mountain? It is a vehicle toward a fun, healthy lifestyle and trying something new is invigorating.”
