VERNON, New Jersey ??” Mountain Creek is pleased to announce the return of The Sports Illustrated for Kids Next Snow Search January 15th 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Vernon base. This national competition invites boys and girls ages nine to thirteen to compete together in test of all-around ability. One lucky first place winner will be chosen to represent the New Jersey area at the SEARCH finals in Killington, Vermont on March 2-5.

Each year the Sports Illustrated for Kids takes a journey through 100 U.S and Canadian ski resorts gathering top competitors to the final round in Killington, Vermont. Mountain Creek is the next stop on the way and is looking for the best kid on the snow. In addition to technical skill, contestants will also be evaluated on their style, sportsmanship, attitude and knowledge of the sport. Judges will spend time both on and off the slopes with contestants to observe competitors for versatile ability.

On site registration for the event will be held in Guest Services from 8-9:30 a.m. Participants will meet in the training room in the Cobblestone Village in the Vernon base at 10 a.m and then head to the trails by 10:30 am. The event will last through until 3:15 p.m. and will be immediately followed by judging. The first place winner and parent will be sent to Killington, Vermont, March 2-5, and awarded four nights of lodging, four day lift tickets, free admission into all activities, parties and events during the SEARCH finals and a shot to be on national television. This is an awesome opportunity for any kid looking for the ultimate riding experience.
